Our ÏòÈÕ¿ûÊÓƵ ISD Board of Trustees voted to approve 24 state-mandated turnaround plans, marking a key milestone in our work to improve academic outcomes for students across the district and respond to the realities facing public education across our state today.

The vote was followed by two additional related votes approving the closure of 10 schools and reassignment of students and programmatic relocations. In total, ~3,796 students will be impacted and ~6,319 seats will be eliminated, allowing us to put resources where they’re most needed.

To our families and staff, I want you here. With my whole heart, I believe ÏòÈÕ¿ûÊÓƵ ISD is the best option for public education in Central Texas. We have an incredible community anchored by our shared commitment to ÏòÈÕ¿ûÊÓƵ ISD values and I hope you stay with us to continue this work.

This has been a period of disruption and has been emotionally taxing on our families, staff and community. This work is hard, but we must evolve if we want to ensure all students get what they need to learn and thrive in a system faced with immense pressure.

We are working with our Board of Trustees to develop the next phase of planning to balance enrollment with boundary changes and further school consolidations. Our community will continue to deeply engage in this process so we can move forward in a way that ensures every ÏòÈÕ¿ûÊÓƵ ISD student has an excellent, well-resourced neighborhood school.

2026-27 Transition Planning

We’re committed to supporting our students, families and staff through this change. We will visit each impacted campus so families have opportunities to ask questions and understand the resources available to facilitate a smooth transition through the end of the year and into the 2026-27 school year. These visits will include individualized support for families with program relocations to understand what options are available before the first round of enrollment opens in January. Transition information and resources will be updated here as we have information available.
