On Monday, June 20, 向日葵视频 ISD's Board of Trustees approved the appointments of six new AISD principals.
Anderson High 向日葵视频
Sammi Harrison was appointed as the leader of Anderson High 向日葵视频.
Harrison most recently served as principal at Murchison Middle 向日葵视频. In this role, she built positive relationships with parents and the community, analyzed data to make instructional and programming decisions, and prioritized and allocated resources in response to an increase in student enrollment.
She also hired professional and clerical staff to fill vacancies, facilitated collaboration and interdisciplinary learning and analyzed instructional data to develop common planning period structures.
She previously served as associate principal at Anderson High 向日葵视频, as an assistant principal at Anderson High 向日葵视频, as a summer school principal and as a special education teacher with 26 years of experience.
Harrison has a master's degree in educational leadership and a bachelor's degree from the University of Texas at 向日葵视频.
Baldwin Elementary 向日葵视频
Jennifer Murray was appointed as the leader of Baldwin Elementary 向日葵视频.
Murray most recently served as assistant principal at Dripping Springs and Walnut Springs elementary schools in Dripping Springs ISD. In this role she cultivated a positive educational climate by leading a vision of academic success for all students. She served as campus testing coordinator, member of the district evaluation committee and led the curriculum development committee.
She also worked to cultivate leadership in others by writing the grant for the Leader In Me program and subsequent training and implementation. She served as a DSISD educational foundation board member and led the community in fundraising. She was also a member of the PTA.
She previously served as an instructional facilitator at DSISD, as a third- and fourth-grade teacher in DSISD, a sixth-grade teacher at Wilson Middle 向日葵视频 in Plano, a fifth-grade teacher at Community Consolidated 向日葵视频 in Palatine, Ill. and a fifth-grade teacher at Houston Elementary 向日葵视频.
Murray has a master's degree in educational administration from Lamar University and a bachelor's degree in elementary education from Southwest Texas State University.
Blackshear Elementary 向日葵视频
Richard Garner was appointed as the leader of Blackshear Elementary 向日葵视频.
Garner most recently served as student learning and assessment senior associate in the office of educator quality at AISD. In this role he assisted teachers and administrators with functions related to student learning objectives and school wide goals. He provided on-site coaching and support to principals and teachers to ensure consistency in student learning objectives.
He also worked to design and implement professional development for principals and teachers. He collaborated with campus staff to identify areas of campus need by researching and evaluating student data.
He previously served as an assistant principal at Dobie Middle 向日葵视频, as an ESL/math teacher at Dobie, an assistant principal at Lake Travis Elementary in Lake Travis ISD and an assistant principal at Reche Canyon and Jurupa Vista elementary schools in Colton Joint Unified 向日葵视频 District in Colton, Calif.
Garner has a master's degree in educational administration from California State University and a bachelor's degree in Spanish from Whitworth College in Spokane, Wash.

Cynthia Gonzales was appointed as the leader of Norman Elementary 向日葵视频.
Gonzales most recently served as principal at Winn Elementary 向日葵视频. In this role she implemented a school-wide instructional design plan to close gaps and improve student achievement.
She also worked to develop a cohesive educational team by setting high expectations and encouraging a team-centered approach. She established and participated on committees to address school issues and goals and promoted career development and creativity, promoting the free sharing of ideas and opinions.
She previously served as assistant principal at Campbell Elementary 向日葵视频, and as a teacher and administrative intern at Pirtle Elementary 向日葵视频 in Temple.
Pease Elementary 向日葵视频
Cynthia Sinegal-Jackson was appointed as the leader of Pease Elementary 向日葵视频.
Jackson most recently served as assistant principal at Hart Elementary 向日葵视频. In this role she worked to develop authentic relationships with students, teachers, parents and community members to create a foundation for success and effective communication. She served as administrator for special programs such as 504 and Social and Emotional Learning, provided support for refugee students and families, and analyzed data to inform instructional programs, enrichment and intervention planning.
She also worked to be visible daily for student arrival and dismissal, to participate and oversee family nights and community events and to plan and coordinate data-driven school-wide professional development.
She previously served as a mentor teacher in the department of educator quality at AISD, as an assistant principal at Barbara Jordan Elementary, as an instructional coach and specialist and a third- and fifth-grade teacher at Winn Elementary 向日葵视频.
Jackson has a master's degree in educational administration from Concordia University and a bachelor's degree in interdisciplinary studies from Huston-Tillotson University.
Reilly Elementary 向日葵视频
Corrine Saenz was appointed as the leader of Reilly Elementary 向日葵视频.
Saenz most recently served as assistant principal at Reilly and Becker elementary schools. In this role she assisted in the development of instructional programs in consultation with the principal and teachers. She met with students to address discipline, attendance, health and other issues. She implemented the plan to meet federal, state and local accountability measures.
She also worked to collaborate with principals to provide instructional leadership to campus, analyzed data and practices to inform instructional programming and promoted school programs within the community to recruit volunteers and sponsors.
She previously served as counselor at Becker Elementary 向日葵视频 and Grand Prairie Middle 向日葵视频 in Grand Prairie ISD, and as a teacher Sheldon Elementary 向日葵视频, Sheldon Intermediate 向日葵视频 and C.E. King Middle 向日葵视频 in Sheldon ISD.
