Dear Team AISD,
With deep appreciation, I thank you for the exceptional work you do every day to make sure the students we serve are encouraged, supported, and successful. Your efforts make me #AISDproud, and it is because of those efforts that I am excited to share some incredible news related to employee compensation.
Gov. Greg Abbott signed into law House Bill 3, a historic overhaul of the state鈥檚 public education finance system.
The funds AISD will receive mean we can increase compensation for all staff. What's more impressive is that we are more than doubling the amount the state requires.
I'm pleased to say that AISD Is committing $48 million in permanent compensation increases including the following items:
- 7% compensation increase for teachers, counselors and librarians with more than five years of experience;
- 6% compensation increase for all other staff;
- A stipend increase to our special education teachers, an investment of about $500,000; and
- A stipend increase to our bilingual teachers, which reflects a $1.2 million investment.
In AISD, we believe in our students and we value you, our loyal and dedicated staff. I hope you will join me in celebrating this news.

Con profundo aprecio, les agradezco el trabajo excepcional que hacen todos los d铆as para garantizar que los estudiantes que servimos est茅n motivados, apoyados y tengan 茅xito. Su esfuerzo me hace sentir orgulloso del AISD (#AISDproud), y es ese esfuerzo el que me da tanta emoci贸n al compartir una noticia incre铆ble relacionada con la compensaci贸n de empleados.
El gobernador Greg Abbott firm贸 el Proyecto de Ley 3 de la C谩mara de Representantes, una reforma hist贸rica del sistema financiero de educaci贸n p煤blica del estado.
Los fondos que obtendr谩 el AISD significan que podremos aumentar la compensaci贸n de todo el personal. Lo m谩s impresionante es que podremos ofrecer m谩s del doble de lo que requiere el estado.
Me complace anunciar que el AISD est谩 comprometiendo $48 millones en aumentos permanentes de compensaci贸n, incluyendo los siguientes:
- un aumento de 7% en la compensaci贸n de los maestros, consejeros y bibliotecarios con m谩s de cinco a帽os de experiencia;
- un aumento de 6% en la compensaci贸n de todo el resto del personal;
