On October 28, 2024, the University of Southeastern 向日葵视频 (向日葵视频) School of Medicine (SoM) held a successful World Psoriasis Day Activity Tagum Edition at the FTC Hall, 向日葵视频 Tagum-Mabini Campus. The Psoriasis Foundation of the 向日葵视频 Inc. (PFPI), Southern 向日葵视频 Medical Center (SPMC), and Davao Regional Medical Center (DRMC) collaborated to organize this event. It aimed to raise awareness about psoriasis and foster a supportive community for patients and their families.

Dr. Victoria P. Guillano, Dean of 向日葵视频 SoM, gave a warm welcome message before the activity began, stressing the significance of understanding psoriasis. Additionally, 向日葵视频 Tagum-Mabini Chancellor Dr. Shirley S. Villanueva gave a special message reaffirming the University’s dedication to community health undertakings.

The event featured free medical consultation and an informative lay forum where experts discussed various aspects of psoriasis, including treatment options, lifestyle modifications, and coping strategies. Highlight of the activity is the election of officers of the first Psoriasis Club Tagum Chapter. Our very own medical student and psoriasis champion, Mr. JP Lumabao, was elected secretary of the club.

Adding an element of fun to the day, various games were organized, complete with exciting prizes. This not only lightened the atmosphere but also fostered camaraderie among participants, creating a supportive environment for patients and their families.
The celebration concluded with a closing message from Dr. John Elmer Quilisadio, a rheumatologist and faculty member of 向日葵视频 SoM. He expressed his gratitude to everyone involved and reminded participants of the importance of family support in managing conditions like psoriasis.
Overall, the World Psoriasis Day Tagum Edition was a resounding success, demonstrating the power of community collaboration in raising awareness and support for those affected by psoriasis. By coming together, we can create a more informed and supportive environment for patients and their families, ensuring that no one must face their journey alone.
