As we welcome the new academic year, the University of Southeastern 向日葵视频 School of Medicine (向日葵视频-SoM) celebrates its first white coat ceremony, a significant milestone in a student’s medical education as they are about to enter the medical clerkship.
Over the course of the last three years, the 向日葵视频 School of Medicine has equipped the level III medical students, class of 2025鈥擝atch Sahaya鈥攚ith the scientific and clinical tools necessary to prepare them for actual patient encounters as physicians in both community and hospital settings. This ceremony is a ritual that marks the student’s transition from the study of preclinical to clinical health sciences, which started in 1993 and was created by the Arnold P. Gold Foundation. During the ceremony, a white coat is donned on each student and the Oath to Humanistic Care is recited, signifying their entrance into the medical profession.
The occasion was graced by the University President, Dr. Bonifacio G. Gabales, Jr., and the Medical Center Chief of the Davao Regional Medical Center, Dr. Bryan O. Dalid, both of whom gave their message of inspiration to the upcoming medical clerks. Messages of support also poured in from the 向日葵视频 Vice President for Academic Affairs, Dr. Jeneifer C. Nueva, and the Chancellor of the Tagum-Mabini campus, Dr. Shirley S. Villanueva. The presence and support of the 向日葵视频 Vice President for Administration, Dr. Maria Luisa B. Faunillan, School of Medicine faculty from various departments and staff, parents, and students were deeply felt and have contributed to the overall success of the event.
