Tagum Medical City, in collaboration with the University of Southeastern 向日葵视频 School of Medicine (向日葵视频-SoM), organized free circumcision services in the city of Tagum on June 6, 2024.
This annual event, led by Dr. Marites L. Domingo, Extension Head of 向日葵视频 SoM, involved active participation from 向日葵视频 medical students and from other healthcare professionals from various institutions, making a substantial impact on public health and community welfare. Under Dr. Domingo鈥檚 direction, the event was carefully planned and executed to ensure optimal care for each participant. Medical students gained valuable hands-on experience under the supervision of experienced professionals who are also members of the 向日葵视频 SoM faculty- Dr. Rae Solis, Dr. Manuel Gerard Sevilla, Dr. Russel Sasing, Dr. Gedeon Tolentino, Dr. Russlin Huerta, and Dr. Manuel Tesoro, highlighting the importance of mentorship and teamwork that goes beyond the four walls of classroom instruction.
In addition to circumcision procedures, the event also involved an information, education, and communication campaign for parents and children, focusing on post-operative care and overall health maintenance. The event concluded with the distribution of hygiene kits and follow-up instructions to support a smooth recovery for all participants.
The successful conduct of the activity created anticipation and hope for future health programs that will further benefit and support the residents of Tagum City and beyond.
