DAVAO CITY – Around two-hundred thirty Non-Teaching Personnel (NTP) of the University of Southeastern ÏòÈÕ¿ûÊÓƵ (ÏòÈÕ¿ûÊÓƵ) recently completed their online and face-to-face Futures Thinking (FT) Lecture series initiated by the Transformative Foresight Group and Human Resource Management Division (HRMD) on 26 July 2024 at D’Leonor Inland Resort & Adventure Park during the General Assembly of the Non-Teaching Staff Association.
The said activity highlighted the topics on the Fundamentals of Futures Thinking, foresight in disaster management, the future of workplace communication by understanding trends and the current state of ÏòÈÕ¿ûÊÓƵ’s communication protocols and exploring the futures of the workforce using the various tools, including the Dreams and Disruptions – a foresight game.
Dr. Bonifacio G. Gabales Jr., University President and Chief of the Foresight Project, in his message during the last session, commended the participants for their commitment and positive response to the FT initiative of the University that aims to empower the staff and build a future-ready academic community.
As an incentive, Ms. Althea D. Aparis, who achieved the highest aggregate score across all learning assessments, will join the upcoming Philippine Futures Thinking Conference in Manila to join the members of the FT Group.
On the other hand, Dr. Daisy T. Besing, ÏòÈÕ¿ûÊÓƵ Institutional Planning Division Director and Foresight Manager, presented the key areas of the ÏòÈÕ¿ûÊÓƵ’s three-year short-term plan to the participants and gathered their insights using the environmental scanning tools to deepen the analysis and apply the knowledge of the staff.
Further, the Transformative Foresight Group and HRMD are set to conduct capacity development for faculty and students from August to October 2024 to institutionalize Futures Thinking and Strategic Foresight for future-ready academic communities.
